Howard Lindel Elmore
Howard Lindel Elmore, 87, of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab Center in Beaver Dam.  He was the son of the late Alford and Lula Elmore.  
He was employed by Peabody Coal Company and a member of Independence Baptist Church.  He also served in the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Ellen Elmore.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (King) Elmore; a daughter, Linda Mae Crawford of Louisville; a son, Michael Joe Elmore of Louisville; a brother, Alfred Elmore of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2007, at William L. Danks Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2007, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service of Friday.

Suzanne Bilbro Wallace
Suzanne Bilbro Wallace of Hartford died Monday, January 22, 2007, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, Kentucky.
She was the fourth of seven children born to the late Noel and Sue Morris Bilbro in Ohio County on January 24, 1947.
She was a cashier at Charlie’s Family Market, a member of Hartford Baptist Church and attended the Southside Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky, where she resided until entering Ridgewood Terrace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Wallace, Sr., on April 5, 2003; and two brothers, Sammy Bilbro on March 23, 2000, and J. T. Bilbro on November 21, 1994.
She is survived by a son, Ronnie Wallace, Jr., and his wife Nicole of Hartford; grandchildren, Ronnie Tyler Wallace, Emily Grace Wallace and Nicholas Edward Lee Wallace; a brother, Noel Wilson (Billy) Bilbro of Hartford; sisters, Dorothy Root of Eddyville, Kentucky, Naomi Bilbro of Apollo Beach, Florida, and Annette Carter of Portland, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with services conducted by the Rev. Ralph Carter.  Visitation will be from noon on Thursday until the funeral hour.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.

Patty Gregory
Patty Gregory, 66, of Central City, died Monday, January 22, 2007, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
She was born on January 13, 1941 in Muhlenberg County.  She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Joe Gregory of Central City; a son, Brian Gregory of Elkton, Kentucky; her mother, Jewel Tunstill of Greenville; her brother, Charles Tunstill of Beaver Dam; and a grandson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.  Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

James Mike Maiden
James Mike Maiden, 60, of Horse Branch, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at his residence.  
He was the son of the late Blimmer Maiden and Della (Merker) Maiden.
He was employed by Schoate Mining and was a member of Horse Branch General Baptist Church.  He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Heath) Maiden; a daughter, Michele Lee Panchisian of Gallatin, Tennessee; three sisters, Donna Harvey, Debby Renfrow of Horse Branch, and Phyliss Renfrow of Central City; two brothers, Charles Maiden and Walter “Tadpole” Maiden, both of Horse Branch; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.  Burial was in Wilson Cemetery in Horse Branch.

Autumn Jo Simpson
Autumn Jo Simpson, 19, of Decatur, Indiana, formerly of North Webster, Indiana, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at her residence.
She was born on October 31, 1987, in Goshen, Indiana, to Robert D. Linderman and Teresa Jo Simpson-Hall.
She was a student, attended Wawasee High School and had lived in Centertown, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Billie Simpson, and her paternal grandfather, Duane Linderman.
Survivors include her father, Robert D. Linderman of Decatur; her mother, Teresa Jo Simpson-Hall of Ft. Wayne; her grandmother, Beverly Linderman of Decatur; a brother, Jeremy Simpson of Ft. Wayne; and a sister, Amber Booher of Warsaw.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel in Syracuse.  A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Centertown.  Burial will be in Daugherty Cemetery in Centertown.

Roy Havard Payton
Roy Havard Payton, 77, of Fordsville, died Friday, January 19, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Falls of Rough, was a retired farmer and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie Bell Payton.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Wayne Payton of Streator, Illinois; a daughter, Barbara Kridner of Manville, Illinois; two brothers, Dwight Payton of Olaton and Doyle Payton of Fordsville; three sisters, Ann Renfrow of Elizabethtown, Gladys Pierce of Beaver Dam and Geraldine Hendrix of Owensboro; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 22, 2007, at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville.  Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Grayson County with military honors.




Paul David Woods
Paul David “Tex” Woods, 54, of Fordsville, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
He was retired from construction and a veteran of the Marines.
Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Woods Heath; his mother, Mary Ruth Johnson; a grandmother, Jessie V. Patty; five brothers, James, Bert, Charles, Danny and Joe Woods; one sister, Mary Alice Woods McIntyre; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville was in charge of arrangements.

Maymie Ree Decker
Maymie Ree Decker, 85, of Henderson, formerly of Central City, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
She was born on February 3, 1921, in Ohio County.
She was a homemaker and a member of Haven Pentecostal Church in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Decker, and a son, Wendell Decker.
Survivors include a son, William E. Decker, Jr., of Greenville; daughters, Ruby Uzzle of Henderson, Joyce Brown of Central City and Helen Murphy of Madisonville; sisters, Viola Everett of Hartford and Dorothy Geary of Louisville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Edith Gerould Whittaker
 Edith “Edie” Gerould Whittaker, 63,  of Hartford,  died Wednesday, January 17, 2006, at her home. 
She was born on December 4, 1943, in Hoboken, New Jersey,  the daughter of the late Kenneth and Viola Kirsch Gerould.  
She retired after 27 years of service as office manager for Larry Robinson & Co., CPA in Hartford.  She attended Hartford Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Clayton Whittaker of Hartford; three daughters, Laura Brown and her husband Michael and Pamela Whittaker Payne, both of Hartford, and Linda Roysdon and her husband Jeff of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Monnie Brown, Tyler Payne and Hope Roysdon; and a sister, Viola Welch of Piscataway, New Jersey.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 19, 2007,  at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Brother Darrell Cordrey officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Ohio County.


Portia J. Gregory
Portia J. Gregory, 56, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab Center in Beaver Dam.
She was born on November 13, 1950, in Louisville to the late Arthur and Josephene Coy Oller. 
She was a Pentecostal by faith and worked at Tamarlane Industries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Gregory.
Survivors include her companion, Ronnie Dowell of Beaver Dam; four sons, Jimmy Gregory, Jr.,  of Henderson, Joseph Gregory of Hartford, and Bryan Dowell and Brent Dowell, both of Centertown; two brothers, Arther Oller of Columbia, Kentucky, and James Oller; eight sisters, Judy Minton of Louisville, Mary Catherine Cantrell of Bullitt County, Nancy Smith and Vicki Fields, both of Rockport, Penny Chinn of Hartford, Holly Fields of Morgantown, and Kathy Staton and Sue Overstreet, both of Columbia, Kentucky; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, January 18, 2007, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Barry Black and Rev. Richard Goodall officiating.  Burial was in Echols Cemetery.

Arbutis Juanita James
Arbutis Juanita James passed away on January 12, 2007.
She was born in Pike County, Indiana.  She was a past member of the Beaver Dam Woman’s Club and the Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon James, and youngest daughter, Tonja Shields.
She is survived by a daughter, Treia Ann Ford of Beaver Dam; a son, Sammy K. Curtis of Evansville, Indiana; three grandsons, Jamie Ford of Evansville, and Joe and Jason Shields of Horse Branch; and a granddaughter, Dawn Ford Lathrop of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; and two great-grandsons, Nathan and Nicholas Lathrop of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
Private services were held.  Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Beaver Dam was in charge of arrangements.
