Eagles avenge losses by edging North, South

The Ohio County Eagles continued to “go inside” last week, getting a lot of offensive production from their senior frontline, in beating 10th District foes Muhlenberg North and Muhlenberg South at the OCHS gym. Last week’s results pulled Coach Paul Decker’s squad to 3-3 in district games–after an 0-3 start–and to 11-9 overall. The Eagles were slated to host Cloverport’s Frederick Fraize High School this Tuesday and then travel to Madisonville-North Hopkins Friday night. Next Tuesday night, February 6, Ohio County will host the Apollo Eagles–the team which defeated Ohio County in triple overtime last year in the Third Region championship and then went on to finish runner-up in the state tournament.

Adams crowned 2007 Homecoming queen, Albin crowned princess

Senior Erin Adams was voted Basketball Homecoming queen 2007 at Ohio County High School last Friday, while junior Courtney Albin won the title of Homecoming princess. The two–chosen by a vote of the OCHS student body–were crowned last Friday night, January 26, between games as Ohio County hosted girls’ and boys’ varsity contests versus Muhlenberg South.

Lady Eagles thump Suns 74-48 on Homecoming Friday night

It took the Ohio County High Lady Eagles a quarter to figure out upset-minded Muhlenberg South’s game plan last Friday night, but when they did the Lady Eagles rolled to a 74-48 win. Friday’s win--in the first game of a girl-boy versus South on OCHS’ Homecoming 2007–moved Ohio County to 16-5 on the year while the Lady Suns slipped to 12-10. The two 10th District teams are slated for a rematch next Thursday, February 8, at Greenville.
