Michael
Kessinger 46, of Glasgow, formerly of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, February
4, 2007, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Michael
was born on November 29, 1960, to the late Carl and Alma (Moseley) Kessinger.
He
was a self-employed contractor and a member of the Kentucky Motorcycle
Association, Contractors of Kentucky and the Hawg Club.
He
is survived by his wife, Melisa (Howell) Kessinger; a son, Carlos Howell
of Glasgow; a sister, Sharron Bullock of McHenry; two brothers, Carl Dean
Kessinger of McHenry and Thomas Kessinger of Madisonville; and six grandchildren,
Samantha, Victoria, Dakotah, Alanis, John Michael and Robert Ray.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at William L. Danks
Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Scott Fleener officiating.
Burial
was private.

Sharon
Kathryn Pharris, 44, of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, February 4, 2007, at
Ohio County Hospital.
She
was born on January 3, 1963, to the late Orvil Embry and Edna Buck Johnson.
She
was employed at Daicell Safety Systems of America in Beaver Dam and attended
Longview Baptist Church.
She
enjoyed gospel singing.
Besides
her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Joe Embry in 1994.
Survivors
include her friend and significant other, Tim Painter of Beaver Dam; a
son, Mark Anthony Baize of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Samantha Miller
of Hartford and Christie Baize of Horse Branch; four brothers, Ronnie
Embry of Nashville, Tennessee, Fred Embry and Terry Embry, both of Owensboro,
and Anthony Embry of Beaver Dam; a sister, Rebecca Shouse of Utica; a
step-brother, James Ray Johnson of Nashville; two step-sisters, Jeanie
Embry of Nashville and Brenda Goodman of Hartford; her step-father, James
Johnson of Hartford; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four
step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Miller-Schapmire
Funeral Home in Hartford.
Burial
was in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.

Kendall
M. Ross, 80, of Central City, formerly of Centertown, died Friday, February
2, 2007, at Owensboro Medical Health System.
He
was born in Akron, Ohio. He was retired from Peabody Coal Company-Sinclair
Surface Mine and a member of United Mine Workers.
He
served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion-Welborn
Ashby Post in Centertown.
He
was a member of Centertown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon
and Sunday school teacher for a number of years.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, Eck L. and Mary Casebier Ross; and
a brother, Wallace Ross.
He
is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna Rae Rowe Ross of Central City;
a son, Jay V. Ross and his wife Melanie of Alpharetta, Georgia; a daughter,
Joy Richey and her husband Don of Central City; a sister, Juanita R. Reneer
of New Haven, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Brooke Ross, Chandler Ross,
Ashton
Ross, Blake Richey and his wife Brittany, Ross Richey and Bryson Richey.
Funeral
services were held
on
Monday, February 5, 2007, at Centertown Baptist Church with Brother Jeff
Hawkins and Brother Dan Yeager officiating.
Burial
was in Centertown Cemetery.

The

Dorothy
V. Jackson Watkins, 80, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, January
27, 2007.
Dottie
was a native of Beaver Dam.
She
attended Cromwell High School and graduated from Western Kentucky University.
She
taught high school English in Owensboro, Mt. Vernon and Fern Creek High
School.
She
was a volunteer for Christ Church United Methodist and Fabulous Finds.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jay” Watkins.
Survivors
include two sons, John Jr. (Mary Ann) and David (Velma); six wonderful
grandchildren, John III, Elizabeth, Mary Catherine, David J., Caroline
and Christina; one brother, Tommy Jackson of Beaver Dam; and many nieces
and nephews.
Funeral
services were held on January 30, 2007, at the chapel of Christ Church
United Methodist in Louisville.
Burial
was in Cave Hill Cemetery.

in Hartford, Kentucky, she moved to Manatee County, Florida, in 1960.
She
was a real estate agent and a member of Suncoast Baptist Church in Palmetto.
Survivors
include her husband, James; daughters, Tonya Martini of Parrish, Florida,
Rosalyn Housley of Hayesville, North Carolina; brother, Kenneth Shown
of Beaver Dam; sister, Winnie Baugh of Beaver Dam; and a granddaughter.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, January 29, 2007, at Griffith-Cline Funeral
Home in Bradenton, Florida. Entombment was in Ellenton, Florida.
