OC senior forward Erin Adams puts up two of her 15 points Thursday night as North’s Brittany Everly defends in the first half of the Lady Eagles 65-62 loss to the Lady Stars. The North victory avenged a 22-point loss to the Lady Eagles on Dec. 18.


Lady Eagles fall to Muhlenberg North 65-62

The Muhlenberg North Lady Stars held off a late rally Thursday night to beat Ohio County 65-62 on the Lady Eagles’ home floor. Thursday’s outcome gave both teams identical 16-6 season records and pushed North to 5-1 in 10th District play. Ohio County dropped to 4-1 against district teams, with the outcome of a game this Saturday, February 10, at Muhlenberg South determining if the Lady Eagles will finish in a tie with North for the regular-season title or if the Lady Stars will win the crown outright.


Eagles trump Aces, fall to Maroons

The Ohio County Eagles saw their record move to 12-10 last week with a Tuesday night win at home over Cloverport’s Frederick Fraize High School and a Friday night loss at Madisonville-North Hopkins. Coach Paul Decker’s squad was scheduled to take on the Apollo Eagles this Tuesday night at the OCHS gym for their only game of the week. Next Tuesday, February 13, the Eagles will pay a visit to Warren Central in Bowling Green.


OC’s Lindsey Embry signs to play soccer at Cumberlands

Ohio County senior Lindsey Embry signed with the University of the Cumberlands Monday to play women’s college soccer for the Lady Patriots. Embry was a three year varsity starter and helped lead the Lady Eagles to state semi-finals in 2006. Aron Bassoff, coming heading into his third year as head coach for the Patriots, is looking for a lot from Embry.


Erin Adams signs soccer pact with Morehead State

Ohio County High School’s Erin Adams, a two-time first-team All-State soccer player, signed a national letter of intent Wednesday afternoon to play collegiate soccer next year at Morehead State University. The daughter of Chuck and Marilu Adams of Beaver Dam, Erin becomes the first OCHS player to sign a soccer scholarship with a Division I NCAA school. She is the fifth Lady Eagle, including 2006 teammate Lindsey Embry, to receive soccer scholarships after just the school’s fourth year of a varsity soccer program.
