Hospice of Ohio County has dodged one competitive bullet but the legal weapon still may be loaded. The enforcement board, which was proposed in 2006, held its first meeting last Monday.

Teen arrested for DUI after crash

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department charged a Hartford teen Saturday with Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after driving his truck into a gas meter, setting off a gas line fire. James R. Corley, 19, of Tooth Acres Lane in Hartford was arrested around 7:30 a.m. after the Chevy pickup he was driving left Belltown Road, crossed Highway 231 and then ran off the road, striking the meter and causing it to catch fire. Fire departments from Hartford, Beaver Dam, Cromwell, McHenry, Centertown and Daviess County were called to the site after a gas line ruptured. Corley was also charged with having an open alcohol beverage in his vehicle. He was taken to the Ohio County Detention Center, where he has since posted a $200 bail.
