Earl
Russell, 80, of Hartford, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at his home.
He
was born on September 26, 1926, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late James
R. Russell and Betty Martha Jolly Russell.
Mr.
Russell was a retired assistant principal of Ohio County High School, and former
math teacher and principal of Hartford High School. He was Mayor of Hartford
for 20 years, board member and immediate past Chairman of Green River Area Development
District (GRADD) in Owensboro and Chairman of Kentucky League of Cities.
He
was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy
serving in World War II.
He
is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Martin Russell of Hartford; daughters,
Teddy Lou Russell of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and Edna Earle Russell of
Oakland, New Jersey; and a brother, Jake Russell and his wife Pat of Beaver
Dam.
Funeral
services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral
Home in Hartford with Brother Darrell Cordrey and Rev. Wesley O. Hanson officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2006, and from
9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery
in Hartford.
The

Thurman
Lee Burden, 78, of Hartford, died Saturday, November 18, 2006, at his residence.
He
was born on March 7, 1928, in Ohio County to the late Lura Burden and Wiley
Burden.
He
was a self-employed farmer and carpenter and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War
II.
He
was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church and attended Concord Baptist
Church.
He
was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel Burden in 1981, and Danny Burden in
1988.
Survivors
include his wife, Ruby Ann Goodman Burden; four sons, Albert Burden (Becky),
Ricky Burden (Nancy), Ronnie Burden (Donna) and Clifton Burden (Kathy), all
of Ohio County; five daughters, Betty Phelps (Tom), Linda Embry (Lawrence),
Kathy Maddox (Roger), Mary Hunt and Tresa Phillips (Joe “Pepsi”), all of Ohio
County; two brothers, W.L. Burden of Elizabethtown and Wendell Burden of Glen
Dean; four sisters, Floy Ammons of Owensboro, Edith Sebastian of Hardinsburg,
Shirley Payne of Centertown and Barbara Sutton of Beaver Dam; 45 grandchildren,
including Anna Jones, Ruby Garner and Stephanie Baker; 60 great-grandchildren;
and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral
Home in Hartford. Burial was in Snodgrass Cemetery in Butler County.
Carl
Kessinger
Carl
Kessinger, 76, of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, November 17, 2006, at Owensboro
Medical Health System in Owensboro.
Carl
was born on March 26, 1930, to the late Thomas L. Kessinger and Beatrice (Abney)
Kessinger.
He
was a retired construction super-intendant after 49 years of service and
a member of Pond Run Baptist Church in Echols.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Moseley
Kessinger on July 26, 2001, and three brothers, Earl Kessinger, Edward Kessinger
and Everett Kessinger.
He
is survived by a daughter, Sharron Bullock of McHenry; three sons, Carl Dean
Kessinger of McHenry, Thomas H. Kessinger of Madisonville, and Michael Kessinger
of Glasgow; two sisters, Anna Belle Snodgrass and Nannie L. Kessinger; ten grandchildren;
and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, November 20, 2006, at William L. Danks Funeral
Home in Beaver Dam. Burial was in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols.
Helen
Myers
Helen
(Nimmo) Myers, 89, of Hartford, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday,
November 14, 2006, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.
She
was born on March 6, 1917, in Ohio County to the late Finley Nimmo and Mary
Louelle (Leisure) Nimmo.
Helen
was a homemaker and a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Glen “Buck” Myers on January 20,
1970; a son, Robert Myers; and a daughter, Jeanette King.
Survivors
include a grandson, Donald King of Hartford; two great-grandchildren, Christy
Gray and Heather Magan, both of Hartford; five great-great-grandchildren,
Parker Gray, Connor Gray, Emerson Gray, Byron Magan and Shelby Magan; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at William L. Danks Funeral
Home with Rev. Gary Graves officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in
Beaver Dam.
Leonard
C. Renfrow, Sr.
Leonard
C. “Hookem” Renfrow, Sr., 69, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the Beaver
Dam Nursing and Rehab Center.
He
was born in Ohio County and was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department.
He was of the Apostolic faith.
He
was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Dockery.
He
is survived by his wife, Marlene Rosenquist Renfrow; three sons, Leonard C.
Renfrow, Jr., of Beaver Dam, Ray Renfrow of Pleasant Ridge, and Damon Renfrow
of Owensboro; one step-son, Bill Jordan of Hartford; two step-daughters, Robin
Duff and Barbara Fulton, both of Madison, Indiana; two brothers, Damon Renfrow
of Beaver Dam and Tony Renfrow of Hartford; two sisters, Nelda Ferguson of Madisonville
and Grayford Myers of Hartford; three half-brothers, Donnie Renfrow, Dalton
Renfrow, and Neal Renfrow, all of Hartford; two half-sisters, Allene Morris
and Paulette Bratcher, both of Hartford; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, November 17, 2006, at Bevil Brothers Funeral Home
in Beaver Dam. Burial was in Central Grove Cemetery.
Delores
A. Kolle
Delores Ann Sheridan Roll Kolle,
63, of Fordsville, formerly of Evansville, Indiana, died Tuesday, November 14,
2006, at her home in Fordsville. She was born on August 15, 1943, in Evansville,
Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Estelle (Kilgore) Sheridan. She was a member
of a Southern Missionary Baptist Church in Chandler, Indiana. She was preceded
in death by her parents; her infant son, Jimmy Gene Roll; two brothers, Charles
and Wilburn Sheridan; and a step-daughter, Janet Kolle. Survivors include her
husband, Logan R. Kolle of Fordsville; her son, Kevin Roll of Chandler, Indiana;
her daughter, Penni Roll of Evansville; her sister, Doris Sheridan Moesner of
northern Indiana; and Logan’s children, Pamela Poole of Madison, Wisconsin,
Anthony Kolle of McAllister, Oklahoma, and Clyde Kolle of Boonville, Indiana.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 17, 2006, at Titzer Family Funeral
Homes, Meyer Chapel in Evansville, Indiana. Burial was in Locust Hill Cemetery
