OCHS student wins second motocross championship
Brandon Crawford, 17, of Beaver Dam, is the 2006 Kentucky State (West) Series Motocross Champion. He won the championship in the 250B Class. Crawford also was third overall in the 125B Class. The series ran from April through September at tracks all across the state. Crawford was the 2005 Kentucky State (West) Series Motocross Champion in the 16-24 age class.
It didn’t take former Ohio County High standout Julie Leach long to make an impact on Transylvania College’s basketball program. This Monday, Leach—a sophomore transfer from Georgetown College—was voted the Heartland Athletic Conference’s “Player of the Week” by the league’s coaches following her strong showing in the Pioneers’ first two games.
OC Eagles, Lady Eagles open season next week
Yes, sports fans, its basketball season! The Ohio County High School Lady Eagles tip off their 2006-’07 season next Monday night, November 27, as they travel to Bowling Green to challenge the Warren Central Lady Dragons in a 7:30 p.m. contest. The next night, the OCHS Eagles open their ’06-’07 campaign at home hosting Bowling Green’s Greenwood High Gators. That game is also set to tip off at 7:30.
OCHS football team honored with banquet
Ohio County High School honored the members of its 2006 football program Monday night with a banquet and awards ceremony at the school’s Eagle Rock Cafe. The well-attended affair featured a catered meal and the viewing of recorded season highlights, followed by the awards portion of the program.
