EMS adds high-tech ambulance to fleet

When it comes to new technology, the Ohio County Emergency Medical System is on the cutting edge. A new ambulance has been added to the fleet of five that the county already operate. “There’s nothing else like it,” said EMS director, Marcus Barnett. Indeed, the new ambulance boasts many improved qualities.


County’s youngsters write to Santa

Dundee artist’s doll among top Christmas gifts from Kentucky

Dundee folk artist Liz Davis’ dolls have been shown in Berea, throughout Kentucky, and recently in a New York art publication. Davis’ Frizzy Lizzy doll named Sloan is featured in the December issue of the New York art magazine, “Niche.” Sloan and 19 other pieces of Kentucky artwork are being featured in a two page ad for the celebration, “Kentucky Crafted: The Market 2007.”


Gift ideas for the procrastinators

Here we are once again just days before Christmas and I know there are some people out who have yet to complete their shopping — in other words you’re feeling the procrastinator pressure.

Beaver Dam Christmas ornament available

The 2006 edition of the Beaver Dam Christmas ornament is now available for $10 at most downtown Beaver Dam merchants and City Hall. The ornament features a picture representation of Beaver Dam High School in the high school and now elementary school’s traditional black and gold colors. The 2006 ornament is fourth in the collector series of Beaver Dam Christmas ornaments. A limited number of the past year’s ornaments are also available.
