Ohio County head coach Brad Johnson yells encouragement to his team as it forced Muhlenberg North to call a time-out in the third quarter of Monday night’s game in Greenville. “The second half was as good as I can remember a team playing since I’ve been here,” Johnson said as his Lady Eagles went on to win 85-63. Erin Adams finished with 30 points for Ohio County.


Lady Eagles shoot past Stars 85-63 Monday night

The Ohio County High Lady Eagles ran their 2006 season record to 6-0 Monday night with an impressive 85-63 win over 10th District nemesis Muhlenberg North in a game played at Greenville. Coach Brad Johnson’s team continued to get strong pressure defense in forcing the Lady Stars(4-2) into 23 turnovers, many converted for easy layups, and North had no answer for Lady Eagle senior forward Erin Adams who popped in 30 points to lead all scorers on the night.


Cougars stun Eagles for first time since 1999

Lance Shutt’s short running hook shot with :04 left in the game lifted McLean County to a 70-68 win over visiting Ohio County Friday night at the Cougar’s gym in Calhoun. Friday’s win lifted Coach Andy Groves’ Cougars to 5-1 on the year while Ohio County slipped to 3-3 on the year, and 0-2 versus 10th District foes. McLean County last defeated the Eagles on December 14, 1999 when the Cougars defeated OC at OCHS 59-55.


Eagles, Lady Eagles in holiday tourneys

“Tis the season...” for holiday basketball tournaments and, as usual, both the Ohio County High Eagles and Lady Eagles are entered in two events in the next two weeks. Coach Paul Decker’s Eagles(3-3) were slated to face Monroe County(4-3) this Monday night, December 18, in the first round of the Rafferty’s Caveland Classic as Edmonson County High School. Coach Brad Johnson’s Lady Eagles–entering the week at 5-0–will face St. Francis(2-6) this Thursday night in the Shively Sports Invitational at Central Hardin High School in Cecilia.


OCHS honors Lady Eagle soccer team

Ohio County High School honored its 2006 Lady Eagle soccer team on Sunday, December 10, with a banquet and awards ceremony at OCHS’ Eagle Rock Cafe. A large crowd on hand was welcomed by Lady Eagle head coach Chuck Adams, then partook in a meal of soup and sandwiches.
