Moore playing too much politics instead of helping the people
An ongoing squabble between State Senator Virgil Moore and a Lexington newsman is just another indication that some politics is rotten to the very core. We're not concerning ourselves with the report that Moore, a Leitchfield Republican, allegedly threatened the newsman during a discussion over a bill vitally involving the City of Lexington. That issue may or may not be settled in the courts. We are concerned that Moore allegedly is "sitting" on a bill in favor of a Lexington cab company owner who put some big bucks into Moore's campaign coffer. That's the stuff that makes political favoritism even more disgusting and campaign finance reform even more appealing. The voters of Kentucky didn't send Moore or any other legislator to Frankfort to play the game of "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours." In case Mr. Moore and others have forgotten, the Kentucky General Assembly is supposed to be for all the people of the Commonwealth and not just those who have deep pockets.
