ST. CLAIR, Mo. — Carroll Ray Moorman, of St. Clair, Mo., went to his heavenly home on Jan. 19, 2023, at the age of 91 years. Carroll Ray Moorman was born April 16, 1931, to Herman and Effie Moorman in Centertown. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Korean War. He took great pride in his craft as a welder and pipe fitter and worked for years at Chryslers, Meramec Mining Company and Waldo Construction. He also enjoyed writing poetry, reading books, horseback riding and camping with his friends. He was involved in the Masonic Lodge for many years and served in many leadership capacities. He was an active member of the St. Clair United Methodist Church.
Carroll was preceded in death by his brothers, Perry, Edward, Earl, Jewell and Charles Moorman; and by his three sisters, Clara Mae Coppage, Myrtle Rowe and Frances Hines.
He married the love of his life, Deannie Brown, in 1953. Three children blessed their marriage: Ronald (wife Jezzy), Shelly (husband Randy) and Wayne, deceased in 2003. He is survived by six grandchildren, Trina, Eric, Drew, Macey, Megan, Olya and Dasha; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Madison, Cole, Brody, Cody, Emily and Cassius; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, with Pastor Donna Schofield Dolle officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair.
