MAYFIELD, Ky. — James “Jim” Freeman Flener, 63, of Mayfield, Ky., passed away Nov. 11, 2020, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 16, 1957, in Hammond, Ind., to parents, Nathaniel (T) Flener Jr. and Barbara Ann Burden Flener. Jim was the loving husband of Cynthia Cisco Flener, of Waynesville, Ill. They shared a very loving marriage for 22 years.
Jim is preceded in death by the love of his life, Cynthia Flener; his parents, Nathaniel (T) and Barbara Flener; paternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Minnie Burden Flener; and maternal grandparents, James Frank and Rena Fulkerson Burden.
Jim left behind to cherish his memory, four children, Jeremy Flener (Maribel), Amanda Fulton (Adam), Toni Carroll (Matthew) and Shane Flener; 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Sabrina, Erica, Zachary, Jasmine, Haylie, Leah, Samuel, Cynthia, Isaiah and Mirna; eight great-grandsons; three sisters, Belinda Flener Whitely, Shannon Flener Vasquez (Edgar) and Annette Lamons (Rickey); two nieces; one nephew; father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Ellen Cisco; his uncles and aunts very dear to his heart, Ronnie and Jill Burden and David and Patrica Burden.
We as a family would like to take this time to express our gratitude to Beaver Dam Nursing And Rehab for the exceptional care they provided to not just our father, but to the family as a whole.
There will be a Celebration of Life held in Jim’s honor on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. at Southern Miss in Beaver Dam.
