ROSINE — Jerry Parson Sr., 76, formerly of Rosine, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. He was born on Oct. 9, 1943, in Luxora, Ark., to the late Fred and Thelma Parson. Jerry worked many years in construction in Florida, and in his later years, worked his farm in Rosine, caring for his dogs, sheep and other animals.
Aside from is parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vonda Woods; and three brothers-in-law, Leonard Lamb, Jim Daugherty and Larry Woods.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Parson, of Rosine; a son, Jerry M. Parson Jr., of Rosine; three sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Daugherty, of Centertown, Ruby (Charlie) Daugherty, of Centertown, and Joan (Lenard) Lamb, of Centertown; two brothers, Larry (Dorothy) Parson, of Glen Saint Mary, Fla., and Fred (Janie) Parson, of Centertown; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Sister Stacy Shepherd and Brother Kenny Shepherd officiating. Family visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Friday and public viewing is from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Daugherty Cemetery in Centertown. In compliance with health and public safety directives, funeral home seating is limited to 1/2 of our capacity, practicing social distancing and face masks will be required.
