Marian Brown-Kirchner, D.O.B. Nov. 24, 1933, Kenmore, N.D., passed away on June 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willian and Gertrude Kirchner; son, Danny Brown; and daughter, Bonnie Jo Basham.
She is survived by her adopted family, Vivian and Dennis Uthe, Hartford; grandchildren, Kimberly (Burt) Brink, California, Shawn (Jena) Uthe, Hartford, and Shannon (Rudy) Macias, California; one daughter-in-law, Cris Brown, Crescent City, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter-in-law.
Marian retired from the USPS as a rural carried in Santa Clarita, Calif., after 30 years, before moving to Payette, Idaho, and then Hartford with her Uthe family. She was a dedicated member of the Payette Senior Citizens Center, where she spent many dedicated hours cooking, baking tall meringue pies, organizing activities, calling bingo, potluck dinners, arranging live music for dances, and even silent auctions supporting the center.
After moving to Kentucky, bringing her collection of many stuffed bears and ducks, she joined the No Creek Homemakers, and attended Woodward Valley Baptist Church, where she provided members warm homemade sourdough bread many Sunday mornings. She was proud of her outside planter of many flowers and vegetables, was a regular visitor of the farmers market in Beaver Dam, and spent hours canning with her friend, Lauretta Burden.
Our thanks to her housekeeper and friend, Brenda Filback; Hartford Caretenders; Rice Drug and Midtown Pharmacy; Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation; Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation Home in Owensboro; and Hospice of Western Kentucky for the excellent care and respect provided for Marian.
Neptune Society was trusted for cremation with no services scheduled at this time. A celebration of her life will be planned at a later time, with final resting at the Woodward Valley Baptist Church.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to any of the above listed care providers.
