Philip Neal Chapman left this earth on April 9, 2021, and told us all he was “going fishing.” We can all imagine that the lake he’s seeing now is greater than anything we’ve ever laid eyes on.
Philip was born on May 13, 1942, but if you ask the U.S. government, it was May 14, 1942. He was born to Grady and Moxley Chapman, who preceded him in death, along with his siblings Hanley, Lewis “Shorty” and Marlene.
Philip is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra, along with two children, Jason Chapman and Jennifer Chapman. Philip was a wonderful uncle to John Alan Tooley, and was a beloved grandfather to Caitlynn Farough (Michael), Alexas Cardwell, Brittany Cardwell, and his little buddy Brandon Chapman. He was a doting great-grandfather to his baby girl, Gemma Lynn. Philip was loved greatly by his daughter-in-law, Kristina Bechtal (Bryan). Philip was an avid fisherman, lover of rough country tobacco, and a big fan of buying junk cars he didn’t need to tinker on.
