CENTRAL CITY — Ricky Layne Morris, 66, of Central City, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 13, 1956, in Muhlenberg County to the late Delbert Elvis and Buetta Irene Piper Morris. Ricky was retired from Martin Marietta Hartford Rock Quarry, where he worked as a truck driver.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell “Bud” Morris, and four sisters, Betty Jones, Shirley Georgopoulos, Patricia Knight and Karen Casebier.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories his wife of 37 years, Cathline Deweese Morris, of Central City; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Morris, of Beaver Dam; one brother, Elvis “Wayne” Morris, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Koree Parker, Dillon Morris and Jacob Morris; one great-granddaughter, Karlee Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Brother Jerry Alexander and Brother Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery in Butler County. Friends may visit with Ricky’s family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
