CENTERTOWN — Ronald P. Smiley, 74, of Centertown, was called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020. Ronald was born in Centertown to the late W.L. and Margret (Chinn) Smiley.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Lynn Smiley Doss.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Katherine (Luck) Smiley; his daughters, Renae (Doug) Allen and Wendy (Jason) Renfrow, of Beaver Dam; a son, Danny (Kim) Smiley, of Beaver Dam; and a brother, W.T. (Paula) Smiley, of Centertown. Ronald was a member of Walton’s Creek Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in Vietnam in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 200. Ronald retired from LG&E, where he was a utility worker. He had a lifelong love of hunting and fishing, of which he did every chance he got, and especially enjoyed with his children, grandchildren and his buddies. He was also fond of spending couch time with his much-loved Doxies.
His last name described him best because he always had a smile for everyone and never gave up the chance to stop, talk and share one of the best stories with you. He never met a stranger.
Due to the new COVID restrictions, a private service will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walton’s Creek Baptist Church in Centertown. Military rites will be presented by Ohio County Honor Guard.
