BEAVER DAM — Tressie Curtis Brown, 82, of Beaver Dam, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Ohio County to the late Leonard V. and Violet L. Heflin Curtis. Tressie was in the newspaper business for over 50 years. She began her career as a typist at the Ohio County
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi Duncan and Reba Curtis, and one brother, Willard Curtis.
She leaves behind to cherish many memories, two sons, Greg (Shirley) Brown, of Hannahan, S.C., and Kevin (Lisa) Brown of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Geleta (Francis) Armstrong, of Beaver Dam, and Serita (Phil) Woods, of Knoxville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and partner in crime, Jerry Wright.

Private family services will be held at William L. Danks Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the Tressie’s family from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Due to health and public safety mandates, capacity will be limited to 50 percent and facial coverings are required.
