BEAVER DAM — William Donald “Don” France, 73, of Beaver Dam, was called hom to his eternal reward on Oct. 25, 2021. Don was a member of the family of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was one of the first graduating class of Ohio County High School in 1965. He graduated Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University, with a degree in accounting, and was nearly a lifelong resident of Ohio County (allowing for a couple of short lapses in reason — he would have chuckled at that). Don loved practical jokes, a healthy argument, history and his family. He hated practical jokes played on him, stupidity, stumping his toe, and long goodbyes, which is why we believe the Lord didn’t allow us to force one on him.
He joins his family who were called home before him: his parents, the Rev. Owen W. and Mrs. Juanita L. (Case) France; son, Robert W. “Robbie” France; daughter, Tina L. (France) Richards; and sister, Barbara N. (France) Doolin.
Those who remain and will miss him most are: his sister, Shirley F. (France) Thomas (husband Tom), of Georgetown, Ind.; brother, Dairl W. France, of Owensboro; granddaughter, Brittany Grimes (husband Jeremy), of Bowling Green; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Keilee and Karley Grimes; and several nieces; nephews and cousins.
All who wish to honor Don’s memory are invited to attend memorial service on Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery, Beaver Dam. Gifts in his honor should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
