BEAVER DAM — William G. “Grit” Gillim, 88, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab. He was born Nov. 27, 1932, in Rosine to the late Erville and Edith Galloway Gillim. He retired from Montpelier Glove Factory and attended Seventh Day Adventist Church in Central City.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Corum; and four brothers, Russell, Ray, Eddie and Carlin Gillim.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Gillim, of Beaver Dam; four children, Tommy (Cheryl) Slusher, of Louisville, David (Denise) Slusher, of Louisville, Mary (Russell) Phillips, of Louisville, and Robyn (Mark) Cannon, of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Michelle, Misty, Terry Jr., Jason, Amy and Robert; 19 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Glendon (Janet); and five sisters, Remona, Mary Sue, Donitta, Judy and Linda.
Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at William L. Danks Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial was in Rosine Cemetery in Rosine.
